We were a group a friends (12) and we had a great day with Sophie and the two captains.
She gave us very interesting information about the area and the wildlife.
We saw dolphins, the sloth, the mangrove, nice fish, cayos zapatilla
They are very flexible and they always try to find out the best way to make you have a great day.
Sophie speaks English, Spanish and French.
I definitely recommend her company as a tour guide.
Sophie planned a "custom" tour for four "older" clients. We all enjoyed her knowledge of the flora and fauna, ecological insights, the area. She and her navigator were eager to make sure we saw dolphins (up close!), sloth, starfish, river into mangrove, snorkling for some of us. Stopped just right time for stretching and enjoying a snack and the view at the over-water tropical bar/restaurant. Can't imagine a better more accomodating tour guide. We loved the day with Kawi Voyage, thanks to Sophie and her staff.
I cannot even begin to describe how amazing Sophie was. It was a rainy day so she modified the tour so that we could see everything we wanted to see at an optimal time and in optimal weather conditions.
Even after the tour she helped us get information for other parts of Panama and gave us her What’s App number in case we had any further questions.
Kawi cares about the environment and doesn’t bring you anywhere that would potentially risk harming the wildlife however we still managed to see star fish, dolphins, and a few sleepy sloths.
If you’re looking for a tour in Bocas, book with Sophie at Kawi, you won’t regret it.
We booked with Kawi Tours and were blown away by their professionalism, convenience and cost. Our guide, Sophie was incredibly knowledgeable. She was also flexible with timing and planning. They came to our hotel to pick us up (by boat) at 9am. This is about an hour earlier than other tour we looked into. The benefit is that we were an hour ahead of the masses!
On our way to sloth island we stopped to see the dolphins in the open sea. We waited patiently and saw quite a few! We then made our way to sloth island and with the help of Miguel our captain and co-guide, we spotted a couple in the mangroves! We then went on to snorkel. It was incredible. We went to a reef in the sea and we jumped off the boat to see so many different types of coral and fish. We took our time and explored. When we were ready to go another 5 boats showed up! (Again, our timing was great!) Next stop was Zapatilla island with the white sands, warm carribean sea. We walked around the island with Sophie and then sat in a nice private area to enjoy the beach. We then headed back out to a floating restaurant for lunch (we went there earlier to put in our order and it was ready when we arrived!) Our final stop was another mangrove to see the starfish in their natural habitat (not starfish beach...). There were what seemed to be hundreds and itw as so cool. We then got dropped off right at our hotel again.
I can't say enough how wonderful Sophie was. You can't beat the price for this full day adventure!
Amazing day out today with Sophie to Zapatilla Island. We ticked all the boxes, seeing starfish, dolphins, sloths and swimming in crystal clear water. Sophie is an amazing guide with a wealth of knowledge of the ecology of the area. Highly recommend her tours.
Thank you Sophie
Sophie basically put together a private customized tour for us. We wanted to visit Monkey island but also stop at several other sites as well. So, we spent the morning at Monkey Island then moved on to Zapatillas. #2. Sophie was hoping we could go to Zapatillas #1 since its quieter, but the sea was somewhat rough that day which prevented us from docking at #1. We then stopped for lunch before moving onto Sloth Island and Hollywood. She also mentioned several other options for us to consider later in our stay. We ended up renting ebikes for half a day. Neither my husband nor I had ever heard of this type of ebike before but they were awesome. We're total converts! So glad Sophie mentioned them or we never would have known!
